They say God only takes the good n he sure got the best when he took Gez
Kind, caring, lovable and friendly
I dont think anyone would ever try and pretend he was an innocent but, he was a man of his word, he was a hard worker, and he stuck by his responsibilities.

No one could have loved life more than Gez did, especialy the weekends, and holidays.
As one holiday finished he would already be preparing the next one
He would spend hours laid in the sun dreaming of where he would spend his retirement
He had a dream of moving to Spain by the time he was 50, but his real wish was to go back to the caribbean.
Gez was worse than the Germans for pinching the sunbeds early morning lol, many a night on holidays he would stagger up to our room to grab a towel and throw it over the best sunbed ready for morning!!

A fanatic rugby player/fan, he started as a teen playing for Hemsorth Miners, moved on to Kinsley then spent a short time playing for Nottigham before going back amateur at Ryhill.
He built up quite a collection of trophies but his proudest rugby moment ever was when Kinsley played some of the BFD Northern players for charity and Gez got to play on the BFD Northern side.
He tried coaching for a while but couldnt bear to be stood on the sideline.
We lost count of the times he had his nose broken lol but I'm sure we got to about 14, then the vain bugga went n got plastic surgery! But it was done on the proviso that he never played again
I knew it wouldnt last, and nor did it, within the year he was back on the pitch

Gez is the bestest friend I have ever had. We were together 17 years and although our marriage broke down, we always cared, stayed friends and kept in regular contact.
I consider myself very lucky that my ex and my new both got on so that we were able to carry on with the special friendship we shared.

The last time we spoke was a few days before he died, I still carnt believe that conversation was the last we will ever have
He was enjoying his new job and was so full of pride for his two boys Ryan and Ben
90% of a conversation with Gez would be about his sons and what he had been up to with them.

He had a real love for animals, especialy dogs and would spend hours out on walks with them

Gez has left so many fantastic memories behind I could actualy go on forever as I am sure many others could too

He meant so much to so many people..

Much loved Son, (George & Mary) Brother (David, John, Mick, Paul, Denise, Sharon) Husband (Sue), Partner (Tracy), And to many others... Uncle, great Uncle, Cousin, Nephew, Grandson, Brother-in-law, Son-in-law, Friend.
But most of all...
A devoted Daddy to his two beloved boys who he loved more than anything

You have a very special daddy Ryan n Ben who will allways watch over you
He loved you both more than words could ever say
You were Gez's life

For myself and Gez, We once said 'till death us do part' but it was wrong, we never did fully, and we never will as he will allways be with me, with a special place in my heart

I remember Gez!

I have one very distinct memory of Gez...He pushed me against a wall and began a bullying
routine...you know pushing, slapping...and then it turned into an all out scrap! This was about
36 years ago at Kinsley Middle School. We both ended up in Mr Shaw's office. My memory then fails me as to what happened, cain I suppose! I too played for Hemsworth Miners RL.
I think Gez must have started after I left. They were great days.
I came across this site really by accident reading the online Hemsworth express. I was saddened to hear about Gez.....even though he freaked me out as a kid!
When people pass away, who you knew at school, it brings home a reallity that we are all mortal. I am still strengthened by my Christian faith, which I found at Kinsley Middle School.
Denise Williams was in my class. If you read this Denise I am sorry for your loss and hope you are well

*♥* *♥* *♥* *♥* *♥* *♥* *♥* *♥* *♥* *♥*

We can never forget your precious smile
And how you brightened our lives each day
We can still see your sparkling eyes
And wonder why god took you away
We have peace of mind and comfort in knowing
That you’re now with our lord up above
The angels are taking care of you
With their everlasting love
We knowing your life you were richly blessed
And in everything you did endeavour
For those of us who are left behind
You’ll be in our hearts forever

♥ I Thought Of You With Love Today
But That Was Nothing New
I Thought About You Yesterday
And The Days Before That Too.

I Think Of You In Silence
I Often Speak Your Name
All I Have Are Memories
And Your Picture In A Frame

Does it ever get any easier
Is the question I often ask
Cos accepting I'll never see you again
Is my hardest lifelong task

Your Memory Is My KeepSake
With Which I'll Never Part
God Has You In His Keeping
But I Have You In My Heart. ♥
